* Please Note: Always supervise young children when working with crafts. We don't use small objects that are choking hazards, but even crayons, markers and glue stick caps can be choking hazards. Remove caps and place out of children's reach. Only use one glue stick per adult, and watch child while they are using it. We have substituted construction paper for all foam crafts. Unless children are at least 4 years old, do not use foam ( they could tear off pieces and eat it, even after they leave the class. At least paper is not as bulky if they eat that).
WEEK 14 - God Made the World and Everything in It! (Creation - Part 1)

CREATION BEAR CRAFT/GAME. PREP: Print both craft pages make one copy per child). Teacher cuts apart booklet pictures and gives one set to each child. * If using craft with older children, you can let them do the cutting with blunt-edge children's scissors. CRAFT: Children color bear and booklet pictures. Assemble and staple each child's booklet to the bear's tummy, over the heart. Go to Activity Page to see how to play game.

FLOWER DOORKNOB HANGER CRAFT - Prep: Cut rectangles out of construction paper for doorknob hangers (10" X 3-1/2"). Give one hanger and some flower or plant stickers to each child. Craft: Help children glue flowers onto hangers in their own design. Write words on the hangers, such as "God made the beautiful flowers!", or "I'm glad God made flowers!"

*If using craft with children at least 4 years old, you can use foam doorknob hangers and foam flowers. Foam is a choking hazard.
11X 17" yellow, orange, pink construction paper GIANT SUNSHINE CRAFT: Prep: Cut large circle out of the yellow construction paper, using the whole width. Cut orange sheet in half lengthwise. The width of those pieces are the length of the triangles that you can cut, zigzagging back and forth down the length of the sheet. They can be different sizes. Cut oval or round noses. Craft: Position triangles onto the back of the sun face, all the way around the perimeter Glue nose on front. Draw on the eyes and smile. Hole punch the top and string a piece of yarn through. Tie at the top to hang. Write child's names on back.

Craft Page 1 BABY KANGAROO CRAFT: PREP:Print both craft pages (make one copy per child for mommy, and one baby kangaroo per child)). Teacher cuts apart baby kangaroo pictures and gives one set to each child. Cut both ends of the envelopes off - (the same size of the square on the kangaroo's tummy). You need one per child. CRAFT: Have children color baby and mommy kangaroo pictures, and color the envelop piece the same color as the mommy kangaroo. Glue envelop piece onto the kangaroo's tummy on top of the square, with the opening on the top. After it dries, insert baby kangaroo. You can write something on the outside - ours says "Peek-A Boo!". You could also write, God made each animal special, etc.

ANIMAL CRAFT/GAME: PREP: Print craft page and make copies - one per child. Teacher cuts out circles. Use one of the circles as a pattern to cut out the same size cardboard circles. Also make spinners out of the cardboard: rectangles about 1" X 2/1/2", pointed on one end. CRAFT: Children color craft page, then glue it on the cardboard circle. Attach spinner with brass fastener at center of circle. Go to Activities Page for directions. Quick Tip: You could also copy the craft onto cardstock. Then you don't need to glue it onto the cardboard.

Raccoon picture 3-D TREE (RACCOON'S HOME ) PREP: Cut raccoon off of craft page. Cut treetop shapes out of green construction paper (2 per craft). Cut contact paper 13" wide X 14" long. Cut construction paper the same size except 1/2" smaller in width. CRAFT: Tree trunk: Peel backing off of contact paper. Stick it on the construction paper, leaving the 1/2" overlapping on one edge (to use to stick to other side). But, first cut a hole (a little bigger than the raccoon) in the middle of the tree trunk, 3 sides only leaving one side attached (so you can open it). Glue raccoon on the inside of the tree, so that he shows through the hole. Roll the tree trunk to form a cylinder. Use the side with the sticky 1/2" overlapping edge to stick 2 edges together. Tree Top: Glue leaves to front piece. Staple the two treetop pieces together all around the sides and top to form front and back with hole in the middle. Insert tree top over the trunk. Optional: Write words on the inside of the door that opens: God gives each animal a home of its own.

WEEK 16 God Made People! (Creation - Part 3)

PEOPLE SCRAPBOOK: PREP: (*If you don't want to purchase pre-made scrapbooks, you can use construction paper for the cover, stapling together. PREP: Print off people pictures craft page and cut apart pictures. Make additional blank pages with the white paper by cutting the paper the same size as the people pictures. CRAFT: Color people pages to use as actual pages (They can also cut them out to use for cover). Glue pictures of people onto blank pages. Add stickers of people to blank pages, adding the child's own words (whatever they want it to say). Write words on the front of the scrapbook, "I'm glad God made people", or something similar.

* Pre-made scrapbook (don't use kind with ties for 2-3-year-olds - as ties are a choking hazard).

Craft page PEEK-A-BOO ADAM CRAFT - (Make craft to use with lesson, or you can use the Adam in Eden similar coloring page instead.) PREP: Print craft page and accessories page. CRAFT: Color craft page and accessory page. Cut out around the top and sides of the big bush on the craft page. Cut out Adam (in the square shape, and cut a slit under his arm where you can insert Eve's arm behind him). Cut around Eve. Tape Adam picture to the back of the craft page at the top and bottom only, Leave a side open so that Eve can be inserted beside him during the lesson. Insert Eve with her arm behind Adam, using the slit you cut). * The children can also make this craft in class to take home.

Snake craft page SPIRAL SNAKE CRAFT- Prep: Print craft page, make copies. Craft: Children color snakes. Write the words in a spiral fashion on each snake: Say "no" to Satan. Say "yes" to God. God rules! or make up your own words to write. Cut the snakes for the children, along the spiral body and cutting the excess out from around the head.

STICKER CLOTHES FOR ADAM, EVE - Prep: Inkjet Sticker Method: Print dolls on regular paper and make copies, and clothes on inkjet sticker paper (note that there are multiple sets of clothes on the page. You only need one set per child). Craft: Have children color dolls and clothes. Help children cut out clothes and peel off backing. Stick to dolls. Sticker Glue Method: Print both dolls and clothes on regular paper, make copies. Have children color dolls and clothes. Cut out clothes for children. Apply restickable glue on the backs of the clothes. Allow to dry. Use as stickers.

Week 18 Noah Believed In God! (Noah - Part 1)

Bear/hammer craft page and accessories.
Bear With Hammer Craft - Prep: Print craft pages onto regular paper. (You'll be using the tiger puppet patterns next week). Cut out arm and hammer accessories. Craft: Children color accessories and bear craft page. Glue hammer onto underside of the paw. Fasten arm to bear with brad. Arm moves up and down.

Noah's Ark Pattern
NOAH'S PEEK-A-BOO ARK CRAFT - PREP: PREP: Print Ark Pattern Pages. Print Animals Craft Page, and Windows Pattern Page. Make copies of Animals Craft Page as well. Cut the arks out of 17" X 11" construction paper using the ark pattern, placing the vertical line on fold. Use the windows pattern page to mark your windows on the front of the ark: Cut out the window squares on the Windows Pattern Page, and trace inside windows). Cut three sides of the windows on the foam ark. CRAFT: Children color Ark page and Animals page. Do not cut animals squares out. Just glue the whole Animal Craft Page to the back of the ark all around the edges and across the middle, leaving the window areas free of glue.

Turtle craft page, face craft page. Turtle Craft: 1. Paper Plate method - for ages 2 -3. Prep: Print turtle craft page onto regular regular paper. Use turtle patterns to cut out of construction paper. Cut out the face pieces. Cut up sheets of construction paper into 2-3" multi shapes for children to glue on the backs of the turtles (paper plates). Craft: Children color faces and paper plate. Glue face onto foam head piece. Glue shapes onto the turtle back (paper plate). Staple feet, head and tail onto paper plate. 2. Only for children ages 4 and older: Styrofoam Tray method: Prep: Print turtle craft page onto regular regular paper. Use turtle patterns to cut out of green construction paper. Cut out the faces. Craft: Children color faces and styrofoam tray. Glue face onto head piece. Staple feet, head and tail onto styrofoam tray.

Giant Foam Animals Craft - Bulletin Board / Room Decorations (Craft for Teacher, Teen Helpers Only) *foam is a choking hazard for children 3 and under. Hang out of reach of children). - Prep: Print pattern pages, Use patterns to cut out the shapes in the appropriate animal print foam. (If you don't have animal print foam sheets, just use plain foam sheets and color the stripes or spots on with a marker). Use construction paper for small parts that will be glued to the foam - cow tummy, ears, eyes, mouth, etc. - it will stick better when you glue it. Craft: Staple foam pieces to other foam pieces. Just glue the cow faces (from craft page) on top of the foam cow head piece. For other animal print sheets: for zebra, use the giraffe patterns (except neck) For leopard, use the tiger patterns; For snake use the snake craft, lesson 17. Hang up out of reach of children - small torn-off pieces are choking hazard.

Plushy Bear - The kids will love this easy, squishy, soft bear craft! The material is super easy for teachers to cut and won't fray. Just print the pattern page, use pattern to cut bear from fabric sheets. Children color face, ears, cheeks, paws. They can even add clothes. Plushy Bear pattern

Animal print craft pages giraffe, zebra, tiger. Animal Print Paper Bag Puppets - Prep: You can use the hair as a pattern and cut it out of construction paper. Otherwise, just cut out the animal pieces on the craft page for children. (To save time, cut out several craft pages together at the same time, first stapling together). Craft: Children color the heads, arms and ears, and glue them on the paper bags. Glue the head onto the folded bottom part of the bag, so the head moves when you insert your hand and move it. If you do not have animal-print paper bags, you can just use white bags and the children can color on the spots and stripes. Animal print bags can be purchased from http://www.sav-on-closeouts.com
