Toddler Lesson 48

God Knows Me Inside Out!

Key Concepts: God knows everything about me because He made me!, God made me, and he thinks I'm precious!
Prep: Mark you bible with these verses: Psalm 139:14; Psalm 139:12-14; Matthew 10:30; Isaiah 40:11. Make Mommy and Baby Craft to use with lesso: (Directions: Cut oval on dress most of the way, but not at the top. Place on plain white sheet of paper to see where to glue baby on plain white sheet. Lift oval while gluing mommy craft page to plain white sheet. You should be able to see baby when you lift flap). (Some may feel this is a controversial "Pro-Life" picture, but BKFZ thinks it is an important truth that we need to teach to our children, and that we should not be afraid to teach God's truth to our little ones. If the church does not teach God's truth, who will?) Psalm 139:12-14; Matthew 10:30; Isaiah 40:11. Print and make copies of these story pages in either b&w or color: 1bw, 1color, 2boy bw, 2girl bw, 3bw, 3color, 4bw, 5bw, 6bw, 7bw, 7color, 8bw , 8color., 9color, or 9mommy color and baby color. (You may have already printed the girl and boy for picture 4 from week 16, and page 5 from week 47). Print extra pictures to decorate your bulletin board. Make copies of b&w pages that you want to use for coloring pages. The numbers in parentheses tell you what Story Page to hold up while you are telling the story. (You don't need to read the words on the actual story pages. They are for use as posters or coloring pages). Read words in bold for the lesson. The words in parentheses tell you what actions you do.
Mark your Bible with these verses: Memory verse: Psalm 139:14; Psalm 139:12, 13; Matthew 10:30; Isaiah 40:11.

We've been talking about how much God cares for you the last few weeks. But we want to make sure you know just how much God loves you! (1) Let's listen to this bible verse: (Read Isaiah 40:11). Look how close the shepherd is holding his sheep. He is hugging him to keep him warm. And, he wants to make sure his little sheep knows that he is loved. God cares for you even more than a shepherd cares for his sheep!

(2) Can you see this picture? This little boy has lots of hair, doesn't he? Let's see if we can count how many hairs are on his head. Let's count together. (Count from 1 - 10 hairs in the picture). Uh-oh. There's too many to count! It would take us all day to count that much hair! But, listen to this bible verse: (Read Matthew 10:30). God knows how many hairs are on your head! That's how much he cares for you! ! You are so precious to God. He knows every little thing about you. (3) He even knows if you are happy or sad. He knows when your tooth falls out, (4) and when you get a boo-boo. God cares about everything that happens to you.

And, God knows watches over you all the time. He knows when you sit, and when you get up; (5) when you come and go. He knows when you are playing, and when you are having a snack. (6) Even when its dark outside at night, and you are asleep, God is watching over you! Let's listen to this verse: (Read Psalm 139:12).

God knows you better than anybody else. He know what color your eyes are (Have everybody touch their eyes. If you have a small class, you can tell each of them what color their eyes are). (7) God even knows how big you are. Let's everybody stand up and show me how tall you are! (Have children stand). Oh my! Everybody is growing so fast! (Have them sit again). God even knows what you are thinking! He knows what you are going to say even before you open your mouth! He knows all about you! After snack, we can talk about how God knows so much about us, and why he loves us so much.

CIRCLE TIME: (What does this mean for me?)

How does God know so much about you? Can anybody tell me? Well our bible tells us: (Read Psalm 139:13, 15). (8) Before you were born, God had a wonderful secret! That secret was YOU! He was planning just how he wanted to make you! (9) Then he made you inside your mommy's tummy before anybody else knew! Even though we can't see inside our mommy's tummy, God can! (lift flap on mommy baby craft/story page) And, he made you just exactly the way he wanted you to be! Each of you are different, and each you are so precious! Let's listen to this verse: (Read Psalm 139:14). That's how God knows so much about you! (7 again) He made you! And after you were born, God was with you, helping you grow bigger and bigger! And God is still with you every day, watching over you wherever you go!

So, we have a lot to be thankful for, don't we? We can thank God for making each one of us just the way he wanted to make us. We can thank him for being with us, and for watching over us. And we can thank him for loving us so much!

PRAYER: Allow children to take turns praying after you or a helper prays.
