LESSON: Accept One Another (Circle Talk Time included).

(Have some different teddy bears and stuffed animals on the table with some clothes nearby) Intro: How many of you have a favorite toy? (Give children a chance to answer). Maybe you play with that toy more than your other toys. (Pick up your favorite teddy bear on the table). Your might put the best clothes on your favorite teddy bear. (Quickly put shirt or pants on bear). Maybe you give your favorite toy more hugs than any of your other toys. (Hug teddy bear). You might show him the most attention, and take him with you wherever you go. You might ignore your other toys. (Point to other toys). They get left behind, with nobody to play with them. We treat our favorite toy better than all the rest! It's o.k. to treat some toys better than others. Toys don't have feelings.

But what about people? People do have feelings. Our Bibles teach us that God does not have favorites. (Shake head no). (1) God loves everyone. He is kind to everyone whether they are rich or poor, short or tall, happy or sad. He is even kind to people when they do bad things! He doesn't want us to treat some people better than others. (Shake head no). (2) Everybody is special to Jesus. (Read James 2:1-4). He wants us to love everyone. He wants us to make everybody feel special. He wants us to share with everyone. He wants us to include everyone when we play games. He wants us to help anyone who needs our help, even if they are different from us.

Let's look around at each other in our class. We're all different aren't we? (Ask children to raise their hands to answer your questions). Who has brown eyes? Who has blue eyes? Who has green eyes? Who has brown hair? Who has black hair? Who has blonde hair? To God, we are each very special. God made each of us just the way he wanted us to be. He accepts us just the way we are. And, he wants us to accept each other. He wants us to show love to each other even though we're different. God loves us all. He loves (say the name of each child in the class, and your assistant also). He loves us all! Let's look at these pictures.

(Read the following rhyme, pointing to the child in the picture that the words describe).
(1 again) Some kids are thin and very tall. Some kids move fast, some move slow.
Some are are very short and small. (6) Some like the rain, some like snow.
But Jesus loves us all the same. Some like to read, and some like sports.
To love each one should be our aim. Some like pants, and some like shorts.
(3) Some kids are rich and have lots of things -- (7) We each put on such different clothes
Lots of money; They live like kings. We have different eyes and a different nose.
Others don't have much to share It doesn't matter how different we are.
But we must still show we care. In Jesus' eyes, each one is a star!
(4) Some kids are always moving about. (2 again) Kids have skin of all different colors.
They're very active and like to shout. Jesus wants us to love each other.
Other kids are calm and like to rest. Some kids have red hair, some have black hair.
But Jesus says we're all blessed! Jesus says to treat all kids with care!
(5) Some kids need very special care. (8) Some kids share, and some kids won't.
Some kids need lots of prayer. Some kids go to church, and some kids don't.
